Dear Ceci, I’m sorry things had to end this way… Especially after things were going so great! At least, I’ll always have Indonesia as our last memory together, husband and wife. Right up until you stepped on my flipflop. And broke it. You know I really thought you’d changed. I really did. After the 9th pair, I was really rooting for you. But 10? There’s no way you’re not doing it on purpose. And you, taking this picture, proves the joy you get out of it. Well, I hope ruining your 10th pair was worth ruining our marriage. So long and thanks for all the trips.

Last cycling day of the trip! ⚠️ Indonesia 🇮🇩, 7 Islands, 4,100km+ with 57,000m of elevation gain and 210 hours on the bike! 😵‍💫

Watching the sunset in Sumba, our last Island of the trip, seems a fitting conclusion to a trip built on so many cycling sunrises. ☀️

The Bali + Lombok article is out! Monsoons & desert heat, toplessness & burkas, biking & hikabiking & broken bikes.

Christmas in March.🎄 After learning that the Flores->Sumba ferry was broken, we improvised an airplane-proof bike bag with a tarp, tie-wraps & a whole lot of duct tape and crossed our fingers. Flying from the middle of nowhere to the middle of nowhere is always a challenge! This is us unwrapping the bikes and finding them safe & sound. We were as happy as two kids on Christmas morning!
